Yesterday in a Korean Parking garage a car that looks to be the refreshed Hyundai Genesis coupe was spotted without any of its protective car camouflage on. The Genesis coupe is scheduled for a model refresh this time next year and will be introduced as a 2013 model. It seem like the car will be losing some of it individuality as it adopts the new Hyundai face, which is similar to the new Elantra, Accent, and Veloster.

Rumours’ have been circling of the Genesis coupe making a run at the pony car market by introducing a V8 into the mix. And with the direct injection 5.0-liter V8 being used now in the Genesis Sedan and Equus, we have our fingers crossed.
The spy images are fueling this rumour as well as you can clearly see that the car’s hood has some new vertical bulges and new air vents. We have received no confirmation of this and it could only be idle forum chatter. We are certain that the new 2013 model will receive the Genesis sedan’s revised GDI treatment on the 3.8-liter V6 which would see the horsepower increase to 333.
Around back the biggest change that we can spot is the addition of LED tail lights, so not much to really report there. Whether or not this is the new 2013 Genesis Coupe, it is expected to officially bare all when it makes its world debut at the 2012 Detroit show in January.
